Proverb: Animguase mfata ɔkanni ba.
Meaning: The Akan does not deserve shame.
Context: Shame is worth than death. The Akans say they fear being disgraced more than dying.

    Yes, Geosi. This is one of the commonly used proverbs. Mostly to prevent an action that will bring shame to a person and his family.

Writings that were churned out during this period (before the 1960s) addressed colonialism and occupation and its tone was vitriolic.
